Can I Change My Status From F-1 to E-2?
in BLOG
Before their F-1 visa expires, international students who are currently in the country but wish to switch to an E-2 visa can do so by submitting an E-2 application to US Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS).
With the exception of an F-1 visa that includes practical training work authorization, the student must have a valid ongoing F-1 visa status and have never worked in the United States in order to switch from F-1 status to E-2 status. Additionally, a student cannot launch their own U.S. company until the USCIS has authorized a change of status.
